Reader’s breaking out the Christmas decorations!

Hey, everybody! Reader here, and it’s that time again.

After some pretty mild weather, we’ve finally started getting some snow, the holiday sales are on in the stores, and our staff Christmas party is coming up in about a week and a half.

Christmas time is here!

And that means it’s time to break out my decorations and get my apartment ready for the Christmas season!

There’s something incredibly relaxing about Christmas decorations, isn’t there? It’s the gentle glow of string lights, the familiar ornaments that remind us of simpler times, and the cozy colors that make everything feel just right. As the holiday season approaches, let these little touches turn your space into a peaceful retreat from the outside world.

Ever since I was a kid, the holiday season has always been my favourite time of year.

Even though the hustle and bustle of the season can be stressful, I love the feeling of the season, and being able to gather with friends and family to celebrate the end of another year.

One of the things I really love is Christmas decorations. Whether its the decorations put up by the city on streetlights, holiday displays in stores, or, especially the decorations I put up at home, they never fail to make me feel good and give me a mental health boost!

We all have decorations that are our favourites.

One I found a couple of years ago. I love neon lights, and was excited to find this beauty on sale for dirt cheap…

Others are a little bit more personal, like these simple wooden decorations that my nieces, Sofie, Abbie and Ella painted for me when they were little!

Just seeing them gives me great memories , and reminds me how quickly my nieces and nephew are growing up!

And this one was custom-made for me by my niece, Brynn a couple of years ago. She knows Uncle too well…

Once I do a bit of re-arranging and cleaning up, I’ll be able to get out all my decorations and really Christmas up my place! I can’t wait!

What’s the one decoration that always makes your season bright? I’d love to know!

Oh, and one other great thing about Christmas? The music. Sure, some folks may tire of it sooner than others, but it makes me feel good.

One of my faves? Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmas Time is Here,” from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Here’s a chilled-out, modern take on it from one of my favourite newer bands, a Texas trio by the name of Khruangbin. Enjoy!
