Woman Sues Company Over Missing Farewell Card, Only to Discover They Bought One—But Hardly Anyone Signed It!

A British woman, Karen Conaghan, sued her former employer for not getting a farewell card when she left the company. In court, she discovered her colleagues did buy her a card, but only three people signed it, so they didn’t bother giving it to her. Conaghan had filed 40 claims, including sexual harassment and unfair dismissal, but the court threw them all out. The judge ruled that she had a “conspiracy-theory mentality” and misinterpreted everyday workplace interactions—like thinking someone copied her because they wrote “whizz” in a card, similar to her “whiz.”
