Hey, everybody! Reader here, and I’m back from a week off, recharged and ready to roll.
A couple of weeks ago, Grayson was forced to wear a splint over his pointy finger for a couple of weeks, after slicing his finger with a box cutter. it reminded me of a weird injury I had a few years ago, in which my right index finger, that caused it to swell up and hurt like the dickens. It actually came up in my Facebook memories on Monday!
The doctor eventually diagnosed me with a torn tendon in my finger, and I was in a splint for a week or two.
It definitely made things interesting when I had to play my trumpet with the community concert and jazz bands during the music festival. I wound up having to shift everything down to my third, fourth and pinky fingers, but I made it work!
To this day, I still don’t know how I managed to hurt my finger, but I was reminded of it last week while I was away, as I found myself dealing with an inexplicable pain in my right hand.
From one joint to the other in my thumb, for about three days, my thumb was killing me, to the point that I couldn’t flex or straighten it. I couldn’t even grip a bottle to take the cap off, or turn the key in the ignition of my car!
My mind being what it is, immediately went worst case scenario, thinking it was somethig like gout or carpal tunnel syndrome!
Finally on Friday, it began to ease up, and it’s back to normal.
Why do we get random pains out of nowhere? Maybe it’s a sign I’m getting old… and to stock up on Advil!
