Foam Lake Flyer capture Senior “C” title to win first Provincial Championship in 77 year existence

For the third straight game it took extra time, and for the third straight time Bret Peppler was the overtime hero.

Peppler scored the game winner just 1:37 into OT to lead the Foam Lake Flyers to a 7-6 win over the Wilkie Outlaws to complete the two-game sweep and capture their first ever Senior Provincial championship.

After the Outlaws took the lead with 3:59 remaining, Taylor Fisher tied the game for the Flyers with 38 seconds left before Peppler’s heroics.

Travis Mayan also scored twice for the Flyers, while Rylan Parenteau made 41 saves on 47 shots in the win.

The Flyers will now shift their focus to a league title and a possible double-banner season as they will host the Drake Canucks for Game 3 of their Best of 5 Long Lake Hockey League Final next Friday night with that series tied 1-1.
