Hey, everybody! Reader here, and I have a confession.
This year, I admit I’ve been having a bit of trouble getting into the Christmas spirit. And for me, that’s tough.
You see, I’m a Christmas kid. It’s my favourite time of year. I always feel good around the holidays, regardless of the hustle and bustle of the season. The lights and decorations, the music… The overall vibe is something I’ve never had much trouble conjuring up.
But this year, maybe because I haven’t spent as much time around family, and because a bit of stress has crept into the everyday, I haven’t felt quite so Christmassy. However, I’ve been turning that around.
A big reason is that over the weekend, I finally got my Christmas tree, lights and decorations up, with the holiday vibes abounding in Casa de Reader!
I love my Christmas lights!
And with the tree up, if gives me a chance to get out my favourite decorations, such as the big Philadelphia Flyer logo my niece Brynn made for me a couple of years ago!
Along with that, I have wooden ornaments that my nieces Sofie, Ella and Abbie painted for me years ago.
Along with some personal touches, including my love of music, Star Wars and even my favourite beverage!
But I also get to take out my neon tree, ceramic tree,my Charlie Brown tree, and other ornaments, that get the Christmas spirit flowing!
When is comes to Christmas decorations, my personal motto is “there’s no such thing as too much!”
Ultimately, the spirit of the season won out, and I’m feeling good. I hope you’re all able to enjoy the season, and spend as much time as possible with those you love!
I leave you with one of, if not my favourite Christmas songs. It’s one that many love and many hate. I can guarantee one thing… I’m sure that when Sir Paul McCartney played old Mosaic Stadium back in 2013, I was likely the only one hoping he’d play this little ditty in the middle of August! Enjoy!
