Hey, everybody! Reader here, and I want to know… Have you ever had the feeling that somewhere along the line, you’ve angered forces beyond your control?
I had that experience over the weekend, when I stepped outside to run some errands on Saturday morning.
Upon walking up to the parking lot at the end of my block, where my car, affectionately known as “Quicksilver” was parked, I found a rather unpleasant surprise…
Yep. Apparently, my car became the target of some vindictive fowl, and decided to divebomb my car, and leave it covered in dookie!
Luckily, it was an easy enough problem to take care of, and I ran my vehicle through the car wash, to clean it up.
I mentioned it to Grayson this morning, and after some cursory Googling, he found that apparently different birds are attracted to different colour vehicles, when it comes to… ahem… leaving their mark!
Specifically he found that pigeons, of which there are many around my block, are attracted to grey or silver vehicles!
I took to our trusty AI assistant, and posed the question as to why pigeons do that, and here’s what it came up with:
“Ever notice how pigeons have a particular fondness for perching on grey cars? It’s almost as if your trusty vehicle has become their favorite chill-out zone!
Here’s the scoop: pigeons are naturally drawn to colors that blend seamlessly into their environment, and your sleek grey car fits the bill perfectly. That neutral shade mirrors the tones they encounter in their everyday lives, making your car an irresistible hangout spot.
So, the next time you discover a little ‘souvenir’ from these feathered friends on your car, take it as a quirky compliment rather than a nuisance. Your vehicle is simply the hottest hangout spot in the pigeon world!
While it might mean an extra trip to the car wash, it’s also a reminder of how connected we are to the natural world, even in the most unexpected ways. So embrace the quirks of nature, enjoy the ride, and maybe keep some cleaning supplies handy—pigeons and all.”
So, I learned something new today, and realize that maybe I need to repaint my vehicle… or get some camouflage netting to cover it with!
Either way, I don’t think I’ll be joining Bert in his fondness for pigeons. That is, unless they leave my car alone – and spotless!
